So in all my open queue games this season I've had healers and tanks, and more often than not teams tend to end up being 2-2-2 naturally because people are actively filling the missing roles. While there is a bit of that, being forced to play 2-2-2 for the last few months seems to have made people appreciate balanced teams. I was worried open queue was just going to be a place where DPS players went to avoid long waiting times. I prefer it to role queue, and much more than how things were originally. My experience with open queue has been great so far. Personally I think that role queue is the best thing to happen to the game since launch. Even just playing a few games of open queue has made me appreciate that we have role queue and it just makes the game experience so much better. Even though it does not happen every time, I do not miss having team comps with only one support. After playing Competitive Open Queue I take it all back and I do not miss the old queuing system at all. Recently before Competitive Open Queue Season 2 (I did not play season 1) I was wishing queuing would go back to the way it was before because I was hoping it would rekindle my desire to play support and tank. Once role queue was introduced I started to play a lot of DPS because it's a role I didn't play a lot before role queue and eventually I lost my desire for playing support and tank. The more I played tank and support the more I loved those hero's and wanted to play those roles. Before role queue was introduced in the game, I primarily played support and tank because I wanted a fighting chance at winning and everyone wanted to play DPS. I've been playing Overwatch since the first Lunar New Year event so I have seen a lot of changes in the game.
